Harrachov winter

Harrachov is 686 m above the sea level and it is the most important recreational and sport area in the west side of the Giant Mountains and thanks to its location belongs to the most frequented centre in the Czech Republic. It is the tourist zone with dozens kilometres of arranged and marked ski traces, downhill courses all of levels which are perfectly maintained and in case of snow deficit are artificially covered with snow.

Service of skis/included cross-coutry skis, ski hire service, ski school ensure complete care. The maintained ski artery around Harrachov for cross coutry skiers is 30 km long. The well known areal of ski jumps on Certova mountain is a dominating feature of the town. The first ski jump was built in Harrachov in 1920. The most important period of Harrachov has been beginning in 1980 by the new ski areal building. Trainings are run the whole year on the eight jumps, same of them are plastic. Attractive flights on skis are the top sports event in Harrachov.

Ski areals in Harrachov belong to SKIREGION.cz, which is an association of ski tows´operators in the area of the Western Giant Mountains. SKIREGION.cz make you possible to use on collective ski-passes an offer of surrounding skiing centres – e.g . Rokytnice nad Jizerou.

The rack – railway to Tanvald attracts tourists by its beautiful sightseeing in the romantic landscape of the Jizerské Mountains and the Giant Mountains and a quantity of tunnels and viaducts too.
